The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance, cleaning, renovation, restoration, upkeep and security of the parish and school building, the surrounding grounds, and the rectory as part of St. Veronica Church property. The Supervisor is responsible for preventive maintenance measures, safety inspections, and periodic efficiency audits of existing systems.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the training, supervision and scheduling of the St. Veronica maintenance staff. Staff duties include general cleaning of the classrooms, church and other building areas; general repairs of the building and equipment (e.g., not requiring specialized skills or tools); set up and take down for specified events and meetings; and some outdoor property care.

The Maintenance Supervisor will review proposals and make recommendations to the pastor, business manager and office manager regarding contracted maintenance services and supply orders. This requires an understanding of services needed and the ability to balance quality service and value. The Supervisor will serve as the liaison with outside contractors that are brought to the property to perform higher level maintenance functions and will review their work to ensure proper completion of the contracted services. The Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing contractor invoices for payment and ensuring that all necessary paperwork for contracted work is obtained.

This position requires extensive experience in building and grounds maintenance work including general knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems of commercial buildings. Candidates must have experience in personnel management and supervision. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with office staff, school staff and families, parishioners and contractors.
