Presentation on the Nicene Creed On Sept. 6

This year, Christians are commemorating the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, held in 325 AD. This council gave us the Nicene Creed, the great Profession of Faith we still proclaim at Mass. But have you ever wondered about the story behind the Creed? Why and how was it created? This presentation by Steve Hemler and Teresa O’Brien of the Catholic Apologetics Institute of North America explores the amazing rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire and how the Arian Crisi impacted the words we say in the Nicene Creed as well as their profound meaning. The talk will be on Sept. 6 at 6pm. in the parish hall. Pizza will be provided.
