Christmas Giving Trees: November 25th-December 12th

November 30, 2021 1:00 pm

The Saint Mother Teresa Outreach Apostolate’s (SMOTA) Annual Christmas Giving Tree program will begin as usual during Thanksgiving weekend.  2021 has been a challenging year for everyone.  Some populations, however, have been hit harder by the economic downturn and isolation of COVID-19 than others.  We would like to bring the spirit of Christmas to them.

Online donations for Madison or Culpeper County have begun.  You can donate directly to them by using this link, https://tinyurl.com/w3chvma2, or use this QR code

Our Christmas Trees will be set up November 25th and will be covered with Purple and Pink Tags and Envelopes.  If you pick a Tag your gift will go to a family in Madison or Culpeper County who struggle each day just to meet their basic needs.  An Envelope means your gift will go to a resident at Herndon Place Apartments that house over 65 low income people with disabilities who may have no family or friends to remember them during this most Holy Season.  Our goal is to give each resident a $25 Giant gift card and $25 CVS gift card to supplement their extremely low household incomes at stores within walking distance of their apartments.

After you have selected a Tag or Envelope, make your purchase.  Please note that Tag gifts should be returned UNWRAPPED, with the Tag securely attached, to one of the brown bins located in the north and south vestibules between Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 12th.  If your envelope was for a gift card, you may:  drop it off at the parish office during the week; place it in the offertory baskets at Mass; or place it in the black poor box in the north vestibule.

Your generosity will help bring the spirit of Christmas giving to the families of Madison and Culpeper Counties and to the residents at Herndon Place Apartments.  May the Peace of the Christ Child fill your home!
