Stand Up for Life at St. Veronica, Friday, January 29th–Life Chain, Holy Hour, Rosary

January 19, 2021 10:03 am

The annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. has been cancelled this year:  The rally will take place virtually, a small group of invited anti-abortion leaders will march that day, and the event will be livestreamed.  Instead of marching downtown, join your fellow parishioners in a peaceful, prayerful pro-life witness that day right here at St. Veronica.

Life Chain, 9:00 am-11:00 am:  After the 8:30 am Mass, participate in the Life Chain organized by three local parishes—St. Andrew, St. Timothy, and St. Veronica—to peacefully and publicly witness in remembrance of over 60 million lives lost to abortion and pray for our nation, for people in crisis situations, and for an end to abortion.  This is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children, hurts women and men, and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death.  The Life Chain will begin, rain or shine, at 9:00 am on the Centreville Road sidewalk in front of St. Veronica and continue until 11:00 am.  Life Chain signs will be provided, or bring your own.  Your whole family is welcome!  For more information contact Steve Grist,, 703-973-6528.

Holy Hour, 11:00 am-12:00 pm:  We will have a Holy Hour for Life in the church at 11:00 am, with Exposition and Benediction.  As usual, confessions will be heard beginning at 11:30 am, and Holy Mass will be at 12:15 pm.

Rosary along Centreville Road, 1:00 pm-2:00 pm:  Following the 12:15 pm Mass, join our priests in praying the Rosary together along Centreville Road.
